Packaged Foods
Olam PFB manufactures and markets a range of branded packaged food products to consumers across multiple African markets. Over the last decade, the PFB business has established regional brand and market leadership positions in multiple consumer categories across targeted markets in West Africa. Packaged Foods Business portfolio currently counts eight key brands that are marketed to more than ten South and West African markets. Our R&D teams, working closely with marketing, have helped us surprise and delight our consumers through differentiated and innovative products. The consumer categories we are present in West Africa include Tomato Paste, Instant Noodles, Instant Beverages, Biscuits, Confectioneries, Edible Oil, Pasta, and Dairy.
Job Description
Ensuring compliance to manufacturing processes and procedures of the company with the objective of achieving key performance indicators in collaboration with all stakeholders by constantly developing, planning, and implementing operational excellence and training of plant personnel.
Key Deliverables
- Production Planning & Execution

- Planning to deliver the sales demand ensuring effective utilization of assets at optimum cost of operations
- Liaison with central and local procurement for effective planning of raw and packing materials ensuring availability as well as monitoring inventory norms
- Analyze breakdowns and put corrective measures to improve OEE
- Lead the AM Pillar team in WCM/Operational Excellence and support other pillars on production related requirements
- Control over warehouses for raw & packing materials and finished goods
- Ensure compliance to Safety and Food Safety requirements from manufacturing function
- Ensure adherence to all applicable regulatory and statutory requirements
- Review and monitor operating budgets

- Develop and train the team to improve the effectiveness of implementation of best/ next practices in the area of work.
- Identify training needs of team members in order to enhance skills and develop/maintain a motivated team.

- Driving cost culture and value delivery

- Review requirements of production consumables and ensure availability
- Review cost of production consumables and ensure adherence to budgets

- Projects
-
- Selection of Capacity, Capability, Appropriate Technology, Energy requirements etc for Opex and Capex Projects along with Engineering team as and when required
- Execute implementation of projects within timelines and cost with support of Engineering Team
- Assist in commissioning and start-up of new projects

Strategic Effectiveness
Requirements
- BE/B.Tech in Mechanical/Electrical/Production Engineering from a reputed institute
- 10+ years of experience in FMCG companies of repute preferably bottling/aseptic dairy products with a minimum of 3 years of experience as Head of Manufacturing/Production department
- Experience of managing high speed PET bottling lines and Tetrapak lines
- A hands-on experience of implementing TPM or WCM/Operational Excellence is a must. Exposure to Lean or Six Sigma would be an added advantage.
- Experience of managing production function of a bottling plant, preferably aseptic dairy technology with Tetrapak and Sidel bottling lines
- Strong people management skills
- Demonstrated ability to manage complexity.

- Good negotiation skills
