Job Description

The Engineering Services Manager is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing all engineering activities within our rubber processing operations, with a strong focus on managing maintenance aspects. This role demands a seasoned professional with a significant background in maintenance management and engineering services, along with experience in the operations and improvement of processing facilities. The incumbent will be responsible for leading a team, ensuring the efficient and effective delivery of maintenance activities and related engineering projects, maintaining operational excellence, and driving continuous improvement across all engineering functions related to rubber processing.

Key Deliverables

  • Maintenance Management Oversight: Oversee the planning, execution, and optimization of all maintenance activities, including routine, preventive, and breakdown maintenance of equipment and infrastructure.
  • Team Leadership and Development: Lead, mentor, and develop a team of technical staff focused on maintenance and reliability. Set clear performance expectations, provide regular feedback, conduct performance appraisals, and identify training and development needs to enhance team capabilities in the context of rubber processing technologies and maintenance best practices.
  • Operational Excellence (Maintenance Focus): Drive operational excellence within the engineering department by implementing best maintenance practices, optimizing maintenance schedules, and ensuring compliance with relevant safety and regulatory standards.
  • Engineering Project Management (Maintenance & Improvement Focused): Lead and manage engineering projects related to the upgrade, installation, and improvement of existing equipment and infrastructure, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards. 
  • Budget Management: Develop and manage the engineering department's budget, ensuring cost-effectiveness and efficient allocation of resources, particularly for maintenance activities and related projects. Monitor expenditures and implement cost-saving initiatives where possible.
  • Stakeholder Management: Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including production, quality, supply chain, and procurement, to ensure seamless integration of engineering activities, especially maintenance schedules and priorities, with overall business objectives.
  • Vendor Management: Manage relationships with external vendors and service providers, ensuring quality of service and cost-effectiveness in the procurement of equipment and services, including maintenance contracts and spare parts.
  • Problem Solving and Troubleshooting: Provide technical expertise and guidance to resolve complex engineering issues and implement effective solutions in a timely manner, with a strong focus on issues related to equipment maintenance and process reliability.
  • Continuous Improvement (Maintenance & Reliability): Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in maintenance processes, technologies, and equipment to enhance efficiency, reliability, and safety.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Ensure accurate and up-to-date documentation of maintenance activities, engineering projects, and operational procedures. 

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering from a Tier 1 Engineering College.
  • 8-10 years of progressive experience in engineering roles, with a significant focus on maintenance management and related engineering services.
  • Strong understanding of engineering principles, practices, and standards, particularly in the context of industrial maintenance.
  • Excellent maintenance management skills, including planning, scheduling, reliability analysis, and execution.
  • Project management skills relevant to equipment upgrades, installations, and improvements.
  • Demonstrated leadership and team management abilities, with experience leading maintenance teams.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, particularly in diagnosing and resolving equipment failures.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proficiency in relevant engineering and maintenance management software and tools.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices relevant to maintenance activities
