Job Description
Packaged Foods:
Olam PFB manufactures and markets a range of branded packaged food products to consumers across multiple African markets. Over the last decade, the PFB business has established regional brand and market leadership positions in multiple consumer categories across targeted markets in West Africa. Packaged Foods Business portfolio currently counts eight key brands that are marketed to more than ten South and West African markets. Our R&D teams, working closely with marketing, have helped us surprise and delight our consumers through differentiated and innovative products. The consumer categories we are present in West Africa include Tomato Paste, Instant Noodles, Instant Beverages, Biscuits, Confectioneries, Edible Oil, Pasta, and Dairy.
Job Title: Plant Manager (Noodles)
Location: Lagos, Nigeria
Overview of Position:
- To Lead and Manage Production team of all product lines in across shifts of a complex Plant. Implement and drive Manufacturing excellence practices.
- To manage the day-to-day operations and activities of the factory, with a view to achieving company’s objectives and targets as spelt out in the annual budgets, while maintaining corporate values of Olam group. Delivery to Sales at the optimal Quality & Cost.
- Coordinates activities in the Factory to ensure that products are manufactured to specification and in line with the company’s profit objectives and on time to meet customer request and expectation.
- He is responsible for Safety, Quality, Costs, OEE, productivity and efficiency.
Key Deliverables
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure Production Targets are met as per plan.
- Ensures that all operations are in conformity with laid down rules and regulations.
- Ensures operational excellence / good manufacturing practices to minimize generation of rejects through compliance with laid-down procedures and specifications.
- Assists with planning for optimum utilization of machines, materials and human resources to reduce idle time and down time of machines in order to achieve production targets.
- Ensures efficient utilization and control of Raw and Packaging Materials to achieve production target.
- Maintain peaceful Industrial relations.
- Co-ordinate with Safety / Maintenance / QA / Warehouse departments for the smooth functioning of production
- Ensures safety of people, machines and materials on the shop-floor
- Lead a team of Executives, motivate them to achieve company goals
- Train the people down the line to achieve organizational goals
- Effectively carry out the performance management process for his team members.
- Carry out other jobs as assigned by the Management.

Requirements
Education:
- Degree in Food Technology or Mechanical/ Electrical/Chemical Engineering
Experience:
- 13 - 18 years of experience of handling production activities independently in FMCG Food Industries with 5 years’ experience in handling Plant teams within the packaged food Industry will be preferred.
- WCM/TQM/TPM/6 sigma – exposure on one of the systems & implementation. Hands on experience will be preferred.
Skills:
- Excellent communication skills.
- Hands-on experience of handling, operating and maintaining machinery for Food Processing industry
- Knowledge of SAP or any ERP is preferable
