Mill Maintenance Engineer
Job Summary:
The Mill Maintenance Engineer is responsible for overseeing the maintenance, repair, and efficient operation of equipment and machinery in the palm oil mill. This role involves implementing preventive and corrective maintenance schedules, troubleshooting equipment issues, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards, and optimizing mill performance to meet production goals.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintenance Management:
- Plan, schedule, and execute preventive maintenance programs for all mill equipment, including boilers, turbines, presses, digesters, conveyors, and kernel crushers.
- Oversee the timely and cost-effective execution of corrective maintenance to minimize equipment downtime.
- Maintain an inventory of critical spare parts and tools to ensure readiness for unplanned repairs.
Equipment Optimization:
- Monitor and analyze equipment performance to identify opportunities for improvement and efficiency optimization.
- Recommend and implement modifications or upgrades to enhance equipment reliability and performance.
- Collaborate with operations teams to troubleshoot and resolve process-related equipment issues.
Key Requirements:
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in maintenance engineering, preferably in palm oil mills or heavy industrial environments.
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in troubleshooting and repairing mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems.
- Familiarity with palm oil mill operations and equipment (e.g., boilers, turbines, sterilizers, presses).
- Knowledge of computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
Job Description
- Provide leadership to mill teams on best industry practices
- To deliver Mill KPIs as per annual, monthly budgets
- Compliance to regulatory/Statutory requirements
- Products and practices as per company standards laid down by MATS
- Maintain Safe, Hygienic and orderly work environment
- Continuously improve output, mill efficiencies
- Continuously reduce costs using lean manufacturing practices
- Appropriate solutions for improvement of safety, output, quality, cost
- Compliance to budgeted expenses
- Prepare capital expenditure proposals in line with business requirements
- Develop reliable vendors for spare parts and maintenance services
- Projects execution as per agreed Timeframe, Specifications and CAPEX budgets
- Lead continuous improvement on operational excellence in mills
- Train, Coach and develop the staff for improved performance and for succession by activating an agreed upon career plan in collaboration with Unit HR
- Implement ERP inline with company requirements
