Job Description
The primary focus of this role is the development, maintenance of compliance operations for global commodities derivatives trading, ensuring that the operations program continues to evolve in line with business activities and regulatory expectations. The commodities business currently includes soft commodities such as cotton, grains, edible oils, rubber and various other related products.
Responsibilities
- Managing daily compliance operations (trade surveillance, regulatory reporting, position limit monitoring, management reporting) of commodities trading and monitor for possible regulatory risks.
- Overseeing the efficiency and effectiveness of controls where the daily output is managed by operations team.
- Liaising with service providers, Risk, Operations and front office staff
- Working with key stakeholders (e.g. Sales & Trading Compliance, Business Units, Risk Management, IT, third party vendors) to identify, design and implement enhancements to the compliance program
- Assisting with the design and deployment of new controls, in addition to the enhancement and calibration of existing controls.
- Providing inputs to ad hoc enquiries from exchanges and regulators.
- Assisting in the production and enhancement of compliance reporting.
- Assisting in the delivery of trading compliance / surveillance related projects or initiatives.
Requirements
- Detailed working knowledge pertaining to derivatives, including relevant rules and regulations (e.g. EMIR, MiFIDII, MAR, Exchange rules)
- Excellent communication skills: able to communicate complex scenarios and concepts clearly, concisely and effectively, both in person and in writing, to stakeholders across all levels.
- Able to build strong working relationships with front office, global colleagues in compliance and other internal functions.
- Strong analytical skills; experience of handling, analyzing and presenting large data sets to identify exceptions or anomalies.
