Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced Tax Director with a strong background in tax auditing and compliance, ideally from a top audit firm. The role involves leading tax planning, ensuring regulatory compliance, managing audits, and advising on tax strategies to support business decisions.
Purpose
His/her principal role will be to manage and oversee all tax-related activities for Olam Agri in Cameroon, ensuring full compliance with local and international tax regulations, optimizing tax strategies, and supporting business operations with sound fiscal advice.
Key Missions
The Tax Director Leads all tax operations, ensures compliance, manages audits, monitors legislative changes, and strengthens tax controls and governance.
Tax Compliance & Reporting
- Ensure timely and accurate filing of all statutory tax returns (VAT, CIT, withholding tax, NSIF, etc.).
- Maintain full compliance with Cameroonian tax laws.
- Liaise with tax authorities and auditors during audits and inspections.
Tax Planning & Optimization
- Develop tax-efficient strategies aligned with business objectives.
- Identify tax‑saving opportunities and mitigate risks.
- Advise management on tax implications of business decisions.
Tax Risk Management
- Track legislative changes and assess business impact.
- Maintain documentation for all tax positions and audit defense.
- Manage tax disputes in collaboration with legal advisors.
Internal Collaboration
- Partner with accounting, HR, legal, and operations to ensure companywide tax compliance.
- Train and guide finance teams on tax matters.
- Strengthen controls and inspection processes across functions.
Strategic Support
- Provide tax support for mergers, acquisitions, and restructuring.
- Contribute tax inputs to budgeting and forecasting.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience
- Master’s degree in accounting, Finance, Legal, Taxation, or related field.
- Professional certification in taxation (e.g. DESS, CPA, or equivalent) is a strong advantage.
- Minimum 10 years of proven experience in tax management, preferably in FMCG or multinational companies.
- Experience with Cameroonian tax laws and international tax frameworks.
- Bilingual proficiency in English and French is required.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
- Demonstrates a high level of integrity in all taxation activities, ensuring transparency, fairness, and strict adherence to compliance and ethical standards
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage complex workflows.
- Proven ability to respect deadlines and deliver high-quality work on time.
- Demonstrated availability and responsiveness to business needs.
- Strong sense of rigor in applying tax rules and maintaining documentation and attention to detail.
- High level of discretion and confidentiality in handling sensitive financial information.
- English fluency is essential for this role
