Job Description

The EHS Analyst is responsible for supporting, developing, and maintaining the company's Environmental, Health, and Safety programs. This role requires a strong technical and analytical foundation, typically gained through an engineering degree, to analyze complex operational data, ensure regulatory compliance, and implement sustainable safety solutions across all facilities and projects. The analyst will serve as a key technical resource, identifying risks, driving continuous improvement, and promoting a strong safety culture.

Key Deliverables

  • Collect, analyze, and report on key EHS metrics (e.g., incident rates, energy consumption, waste generation).
  • Ensure strict compliance with all local, state, and federal EHS regulations (e.g., OSHA, EPA, ISO 14001/45001).
  • Manage and submit regulatory required reports and permits.
  • Apply engineering principles to investigate incidents, determine root causes, and design effective corrective and preventive actions.
  • Conduct quantitative risk assessments, Process Hazard Analyses (PHAs), and Job Safety Analyses (JSAs) for new and existing equipment/processes.
  • Develop and manage technical EHS programs such as Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), Machine Guarding, Confined Space Entry, and Hazardous Waste Management.
  • Perform regular site inspections and internal EHS audits to identify and mitigate hazards.
  • Monitor the implementation of corrective actions from audits and inspections.

Operational Effectiveness

  • Bring out new/unknown risks in new and existing facilities for management to act
  • Ensure all Olam facilities are compliant to local/international regulatory norms
  • Document areas of improvement, push the envelope when it comes to environmental safety and safe workplace practices
  • Identify opportunities to eliminate not just reduce workplace hazards

Requirements

  • Required: Bachelor's degree in a relevant Engineering discipline (e.g., Chemical, Mechanical, Civil, Industrial, Environmental Engineering) or Occupational Health and Safety.
  • Required: 2+ years of professional experience in an EHS role within a manufacturing, industrial, or construction environment.
  • Preferred: Relevant professional certification such as Associate Safety Professional (ASP), Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), or Professional Engineer (PE)
  • Analytical Rigor: Proven ability to collect, interpret, and present complex quantitative data using statistical analysis software (e.g., Excel, Minitab).
  • Problem-Solving: Strong technical and critical thinking skills with the ability to apply engineering concepts to solve practical EHS problems.
  • Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to clearly articulate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Initiative: Self-motivated, able to work independently, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
