Assistant Processing Manager

Job Description

An Assistant Processing Manager in Olam Agri is responsible for managing an efficient and safe processing site that produces finished products meeting customer requirements at optimal cost and maximum financial benefit. The role focuses on driving operational efficiency, ensuring product quality and consistency, maintaining plant performance, and leading continuous improvement initiatives. The incumbent is also responsible for managing production teams, overseeing inventory, ensuring adherence to health, safety, and hygiene standards, and collaborating across functions to deliver business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day processing activities to ensure timely and accurate completion of transactions.
• Monitor team performance, productivity, and adherence to established Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
• Review and validate processed transactions for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with policies.
• Manage workflow allocation and prioritize tasks to meet operational deadlines.
• Investigate and resolve processing exceptions, discrepancies, and escalated issues.
• Coordinate with internal stakeholders and cross-functional teams to ensure smooth operational execution.
• Prepare and maintain operational reports, dashboards, and performance metrics.
• Identify process improvement opportunities and support automation and efficiency initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with organizational policies, regulatory requirements, and internal controls.
• Conduct quality checks and implement corrective actions to improve process accuracy.
• Support training, coaching, and development of team members to enhance performance.
• Participate in audits and provide required documentation and process information.
• Track key performance indicators (KPIs) and recommend actions to achieve operational targets.
• Maintain process documentation, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and work instructions.
• Drive a culture of continuous improvement, operational excellence, and customer focus

Job Requirements

Experience

• 5–6 years of relevant work experience, preferably in handling multiple milling lines
• Experience in managing production operations within a structured industrial environment
• Strong exposure to cost control, plant operations, and process optimisation

Qualifications

• B.Tech / B.E. from a reputed institute
