Our animal feed & protein comprises of poultry feed, hatcheries & aqua-feed.

We’re one of the leading animal feed and day-old chick producers in Nigeria. We operate one of Nigeria's largest poultry feed mills and day-old-chick facilities in Kaduna State, and in Kwara state. Our aqua feed plant in Nigeria is the first in Sub-Saharan Africa, along with a poultry feed mill. Both these facilities are helping serve Nigeria’s expanding poultry and aquaculture sectors.

In Vietnam, our feed mill in Mekong Delta service selected fish species with world-class product quality and technology and have established leading brands like Ecotra, Song Fish, Redcrown, and Royalgrow.

To strengthen and expand our animal feed and protein capabilities in West Africa, while generating synergies with its wheat milling business in Senegal we recently acquired Avisen SARL a major suppliers of feed, with its facility located in Rufisque producing over 100,000 metric tons (MT) of feed annually.

Job Description

The Broiler Breeder Farm Manager is responsible for the effective management, performance, and biosecurity of broiler breeder operations across multiple rearing and production farms. The role oversees bird health, production efficiency, people management, and compliance with company standards to ensure optimal hatching egg output, cost control, and animal welfare.

Scope of Responsibility:

- Rearing Farms: 4 farms

• Capacity: 39,000 females plus 16% males per farm

- Production Farms: 8 farms

• Capacity: 37,000 females per farm

Key Deliverables

Flock Management & Production:

- Manage broiler breeder flocks from rearing through production

- Ensure optimal body weight, uniformity, egg production, fertility, and hatchability

- Monitor performance indicators and implement corrective actions

- Ensure adherence to breeder guidelines and SOPs

Feeding & Nutrition:

- Plan and control feed programs

- Monitor feed intake, quality, and allocation

- Adjust feeding strategies based on age, performance, and environment

Strategic Effectiveness

Vaccination, Medication & Bird Health:

- Plan and implement vaccination programs

- Ensure correct administration of vaccines and medications

- Monitor mortality and disease trends

- Liaise with veterinarians and technical teams

- Ensure compliance with medication withdrawal periods

Biosecurity & Animal Welfare:

- Enforce strict biosecurity measures

- Ensure compliance with animal welfare standards

- Conduct regular farm inspections

- Train staff on hygiene and disease prevention

Operational Effectiveness

People Management & Leadership:

- Supervise and develop farm supervisors and staff

- Ensure proper staffing and task allocation

- Conduct training and performance management

- Promote teamwork and accountability

Data Management & Reporting:

- Collect and analyse production, health, and feed data

- Prepare performance reports

- Use data for continuous improvement

Compliance & Farm Operations:

- Ensure compliance with company policies and regulations

- Oversee farm infrastructure and equipment maintenance

- Support audits and inspections

Organizational Effectiveness

Requirements

- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine/Degree or Higher National Diploma in Animal Science, Poultry Science, Animal Health and Production, or any other related field

- Extensive experience in broiler breeder operations, 10-15 years.
