We have an exciting opportunity for Profit Centre Head for Cocoa in East Africa. The PCH role will involve managing day to day activity of the current Cocoa Business in Uganda, Tanzania and DRC including extension, procurement, processing, quality, logistics, risk management. It’s a well-rounded role that gives the experience of managing a complex business in the region.


Key Performance Deliverables:


  • Design, implement and drive the extension/certification and procurement Strategy in the geography with the respective teams below him/her to drive and deliver volumes as per the overall business plan.
  • Responsible for driving procurement volumes and market shares in the region
  • Support the BU trading team in trading and positional decisions by providing adequate and timely market information
  • Risk Management; Understand the portfolio risks of both the physical and the futures trading book.
  • Manage Origin futures & FX hedging book.
  • Plan and execute annual budgets together with Finance team.
  • Cashflow and volume forecast.
  • Full P&L responsibility.
  • Purchase and sales book management.
  • Ensure timely execution of contracts.
  • Manage full regional cocoa team including performance monitoring, 
  • Supervise shipping team so that cocoa beans are shipped efficiently and cost effectively.
  • Responsible to drive the BU sustainability targets and initiatives in the region supervising the sustainability team.
  • Monitor progress of certification activities/ Coordinate execution of sustainability activities
  • Report to clients on project indicators of sustainability programs.
  • Ensure strict adherence to all the laid down systems and procedures without exception
  • Ensure that all the direct and indirect costs for the business are within budgets
  • Be responsible for the procurement/processing operations – efficiency, cost of production, volumes as per agreed budgets. This is in addition to general administration at the procurement units.
  • Interface with appropriate regulatory bodies for obtaining permissions, approvals, etc
  • Optimize utilization of processing and quality resources in the country to derive maximum capacity utilization and efficiencies, to eliminate controllable losses & minimize the impact of non-controllable losses



  • MBA with 6 years plus of post-qualification industry experience. None MBA with

at least 10 years of managerial experience in an independent role.

  • Prior experience in handling of Agri commodities – both procurement and processing is a must.
