  • Lead the development and delivery of the organizational learning and development strategy, ensuring alignment with strategic priorities.
  • Manage the delivery of a business focused learning and development plan on time and on budget.
  • Build the effectiveness and capability of managers/staff.
  • Assess company-wide developmental needs to drive training initiatives while identifying and arranging suitable training solutions for employees.
  • To improve operational productivity on the ground.


Job Description

  • Actively contribute to the development of the L&D strategy and policy
  • Craft/create competence assessment and development tools to evaluate the proficiency levels throughout the organization are suitably known
  • Conduct an annual capability gap analysis across all employee levels and produce trend analysis and insight that will contribute to the appropriate future L&D solutions. Conducts annual training and development needs assessment.
  • Drive the development of individual development plans and track completion on all sites
  • Develop a robust yearly L&D plan and ensure timely execution with agility
  • Develop career development frameworks for all key disciplines within our operations
  • Develop a continuous learning culture within OPG/ORG through the use of a well populated LMS tool
  • Develop a varied and reliable learning suppliers’ catalogue locally, regionally and internationally as relevant with our industry
  • Trains and coach managers, supervisors and others involved in employee development efforts
  • Develops and maintains organizational communications such as intranet bulletin boards and newsletters to ensure employees have knowledge of training and development events and resources
  • Work collaboratively with HR Managers to engage employees in existing and new development opportunities, utilizing innovation to ensure employee capability and productivity improve
  • Drive talent management initiatives throughout the organization
  • Leading on the development of a culture of continuous improvement, introduce impact measured analytics to demonstrate scale of success of L&D delivery. Inform future L&D activities and demonstrate return on investment
  • Drive L&D initiatives with external parties to close the capability gap within the rubber and palm oil sectors to secure a healthy talent pipeline locally (Training programs, internship program, scholarship program…etc)
  • Track budgets and negotiate contracts with suppliers.
  • Implement various learning methods across 12,000 employees countrywide
  • Ability to work flexibly and within a fast-paced environment
  • Work proactively to achieve the organization’s highest priorities
  • Bridge the rubber/palm oil capability gap throughout the workers population
  • Training to address the need for paradigm shift with respect to employees’ sense of entitlement



  • Master in HR or relevant subject
  • 15 years’ experience with 5 years HR management position.
  • Training and Development Skills: Proficiency in instructional design, curriculum development, and training delivery is necessary. Candidates should be able to design and implement training programs that address the specific needs.
  • Leadership and Management Skills: Strong leadership and management abilities are crucial for overseeing a team of training professionals and effectively managing learning initiatives within the organization.
  • Adaptability and Innovation: The ability to adapt to changing industry trends and innovate in training methodologies is valuable. Learning and Development Managers should continuously seek opportunities to improve training programs and enhance employee learning experiences.
