Job Description
- Spearheading volume procurement operations: Managed significant volumes of purchases annually, ensuring timely and cost-effective acquisition.
- Full-cycle expertise: Handling complete purchase process from sourcing to logistics, including managing suppliers across the Nigeria region.
- Stakeholder engagement: Building strong relationships with key stakeholders including government officials, buyers, and cooperatives.
- Market analysis and planning: Mapping regional potential and market trends to inform strategic buying decisions.
- Performance-driven: Consistently delivering on key performance indicators (KPIs) for volume, gross cost per metric ton (GC/MT), and profit before tax (PBT).
- Strategic sourcing: Developing and executing buying strategies aligned with factory and export needs, ensuring cost-effectiveness and market competitiveness.
- Quality assurance: Implementing innovative practices to acquire the highest quality raw materials at competitive prices.
- In-depth knowledge: Developing a deep understanding of product grades, blends, and regional dynamics.
- Operational excellence: Optimizing supply chain efficiencies to become the industry's "sharpest buyer," while maintaining high-level operational efficiency and reliability
Requirements
- Management Graduate from one of the premier institutes with 2-3 years of handling procurement/ supply chain & operations in Agri business industry / Commodity industry, developing and managing an efficient procurement network as per distribution strategy.
- Strong communication and leadership qualities
- Proven track record of success in managing high-volume and complex procurement operations.
- Strong understanding of international trade regulations and market dynamics.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and relationship management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Organic Superfoods: Our superfoods include white, red, black and tricolour quinoa varieties, and black and white chia seeds, amaranth and we’ve invested to expand our capabilities and capacity to meet the growing demand for quinoa and chia seeds.
Olam Agri Peru
As part of Olam Agri, our Specialty Grains & Seeds business in Peru is a leading supplier of processed quinoa grains and chia seeds, offering services to several distributors, manufacturers, supermarkets and private brands across 5 continents.
We have established direct relationships with farmers in quinoa and chia-growing regions in Peru, working closely with our growing communities to make a positive impact, with over 2700 quinoa and chia farmers. We focus on optimising farm economies and creating positive environmental and social impacts in communities and landscapes in some of the least developed areas of the country. We collaborate with farmers to develop solutions which improve yields, quality and market access, and provide training on Forest preservation, reforestation, and climate smart agriculture
Our processing facility located in Lima has one of the best processing infrastructures in the industry, with unique packaging capabilities for bulk and retail. We seek innovation with our customers to create more sustainable products, including recyclable packaging.
We've installed a crop dryer and automated retail packaging with an annual capacity 5,000 mt at our facilities in Peru, where we supply customers with both bulk and retail packs. The packaging machine enhances our commitment to food safety as it requires no manual intervention, which is enabling us to supply private label retail products to retailers, brands and packaging companies across North America, Latin America and Europe.
We operate to the highest quality and food safety standards, ensuring supply of healthy and safe products to the end consumer. Our certifications include BRC “AA”, HACCP, GMP, Gluten Free, Kosher, Halal and SMETA.
