GIS and Survey Assistant Manager

 

Key Deliverables

 

Support Oil Palm & Rubber plantation business in mapping, survey and drone activity in the plantation cluster site.  The general scope of works is as below:

 

Data Collection:

  • Collect geospatial data from various source such as field survey and Remote sensing data.
  • GIS and survey assistant manager will use GPS Geodetic or Total station to create benchmark level 1, 2 and Ground control points.
  • Using drones to capture the images of plantation, forest, buffer zone, conservation area, infrastructure, etc.
  • Collect topography data of some plantation region using GPS RTK method or using total station/Waterpass tools.'

 

Data Processing:

  • Process raw data from GNSS geodetic using various method.    
  • Process raw images from drone to georeferenced orthophoto using image processing tools such as Simactive correlator 3D, Pix4D or other software.
  • Process point cloud from field survey into DEM and Contour.

 

Data Analysis:

  • Analyze data from GPS, total station and orthophoto to obtain information of area, distances and numbers.
  • Using DEM from Lidar or orthophoto to extract elevation information, slope, contour and create hydrology analysis and various analysis for drainage construction plan, POME Furrow construction plan, etc.

 

Drone operation

  • Operating various drones (multirotor/VTOL/fix wings) to capture imagery of the plantation.
  • Operating drones for animal surveillance and conservation activity and other various application.
  • Maintain and do minor repair on the drones.

 

Field Survey Activity

  • Assist measurement and topography survey using various tools such as GPS and total station and Echo sounder.
  • Assist land clearing, road construction, stacking, terrace creation and lining planting.
  • Assisting drainage/furrow construction in the field by directing heavy machinery.
  • Assisting the measurement of the work progress of the heavy machinery.

 

Mapping

  • Support other functions to create various maps on demand include regular maps (weekly/monthly report map).
  • Maintain and update geodatabases of the plantation.

 

Team building

  • Form National teams and train them to facilitate daily field works.

 

Collaboration

  • Collaborate with internal functions and external contractor/consultant to assist various project.

Qualification & Experience

  • Minimum Diploma degree or Bachelor degree in GIS, Cartography, Remote Sensing, Geography, Geodetic, Agriculture, environment, IT or related field.
  • Having Oil Palm/rubber/forestry/plantation/Agriculture or relevant experience minimum 3 years.
  • Strong knowledge in GIS, Mapping, Remote sensing, Survey, Drone operation, drone image processing and analysis.
  • Proficient in using GIS/Mapping software and image processing software such as ArcGIS, QGIS, Global Mapper, Pix4D, DJI terra, Simactive Correlator 3D, etc.
  • Proficient in using various drones such as multirotor drones/fix wings drones/VTOL drones and have experience as drone operator in image acquisition application minimum 2 years. Having experience in drone operation for other application such as spraying, surveillance will be an asset. Having good knowledge in drone maintenance will be an advantage. Proven with piloting license or training certificate.
  • Having knowledge in using various drone sensor especially Visible Camera and Multispectral camera. Having experience in using Lidar sensor will be an advantage.
  • Proficient in using Survey tools such as GNSS Geodetic, Total Station equipment as well as understand the methodology of survey.
  • Having experience in land clearing/ land development of plantation/Agriculture including Road construction, Drainage construction, Stacking, Lining for planting and terrace creation for undulating area.
  • Having knowledge in spatial programming language will be an advantage.
  • Having knowledge in Web GIS development will be an advantage.
  • Good communication, written, oral skills in French or English.
  • Ability to translate business requirements into GIS solutions.
  • Having vehicle driving skills or having diving license will be an advantage.
  • Ability to work independently.

 

Work Location

Mouila Plantation, Ndende Plantation or Makouke Plantation Region.
