Job Description

The incumbent should have proven experience as a “self starter” with a strong element of dynamism and the ability to move fast and get things done. Being able to objectively assess the risk and manage the same promptly is a key pre-requisite for the individual. He should have the stature and the maturity that commands the respect of his peers.

The candidate shall be

  • Part of the Prop Desk within the Grains & Oil seeds business unit at Olam Agri.
  • Responsible for managing a derivative trading book within the Agricultural complex with focus on the Oilseeds complex.

Requirements

  • Have run a prop book trading the Oil Seeds derivatives market for at least 3-4 years & a good P&L record.
  • Have 10-12 years of trading (physicals and futures) experience in the oilseeds complex.
  • Have very good knowledge & insights into the Oilseed industry and its supply and demand dynamics.
  • Work closely with research, regional traders and country managers to develop and execute proprietary derivative trading strategies to capitalize on market movements/volatility and arbitrage opportunities.
  • Perform market analysis and trends to keep abreast of competitive landscape.
  • Maintain a pulse on the competition and identify new areas of opportunity for growth.
