Job Description

This position is primarily and core responsible for rebuilt and repairs of earthen Dyke, irrigation dams & canals, laterite / dirt Roads, within budget and timeline. He will serve as the lead contact for all rebuilt & repair works of earthen infrastructure in the Farm. In addition to above responsibilities, the Land Development Manager will be responsible for efficiently utilizing and managing the earth moving equipment (like: excavator, dozer, grader, compactor, wheel loader, back-hoe, tipper, leveling tractor, etc.) any assigned for his role.

Responsibilities

  • To estimation, planning, execution, timely completion of the earth works and to ensure that work meets specifications.
  • Selection and deployment of right equipment usage for the earth work.
  • Monitoring & maintain the equipment usage, task completion, work output, fuel usage, etc.
  • Monitoring the performance of the equipment operators, deployment, training, etc.
  • Teamwork and coordination with other department.
  • Plan and adequate the hiring equipment in time and availabilities for smother operation.
  • Ability to do annual maintenance budget, equipment requirements, etc.
  • Field testing the repaired equipment for performance assessment.
  • To ensure / coordinate with workshop team for equipment cleaning, lubricate and perform other routine maintenance works by daily & periodically.
  • To plan and provide all necessary resources for the department required for people to deliver the work / service on time.

Requirements

  • Strong knowledge in earth work, like: laterite / dirt road, earthen dyke, dam, irrigation canal construction / repair, maintenance etc.
  • Strong knowledge in land survey, land development like: bush clearing, levelling, preparation, etc.
  • Strong knowledge in RTK GPS and exposure in Total station & leaser levelling.
  • Fluency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PPT and added advantage in AutoCAD.
  • Added advantage of knowledge in basic in civil construction like: water crossover retain wall, simple structure to retain the earth work, etc.
  • Added advantage of knowledge in basic flooded open canal irrigation systems, irrigation pumps, etc.
  • Graduation / Diploma Civil Engineering with minimum 15 -20 years hands on experience.
  • Experience in road / earthen road, dyke & dam construction.
  • Experience in land development and levelling in commercial farming.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and report.
