Job Description
The definition, implementation and management of the Senegal IFP (Integrated Feed & Proteins) Veterinary Services, Quality and Nutrition strategy.
Key Deliverables
- Design and implement ‘Veterinary Services to Poultry/Ruminant farmers’ in Senegal for farmers’ engagement, training & consulting support.
- Recruit, develop & lead the team of Veterinary service providers, Quality Team & Nutrition Team as per the mandate.
- Implement and monitor the quality assurance policies and standards ;
- As part of the Senegal IFP leadership team, work closely with other department heads, especially Sales & Production for achieving the Veterinary & Quality objectives.
- Support technical and commercial team in providing information and services to customers ;
- Maintain expertise in the nutritional trends, and keep up-to date with regulatory changes and feed safety ;
- Define, organize and ensure the schedules of rounds and visits to farmers ;
- Qualitative reporting for better monitoring of actions.
Requirements
- The Holder of the position must have a solid relevant exposure to Animal Nutrition industry or be a Veterinary Doctor.
- Be a senior executive with at least ten (10) years of experience in the field of animal production.
- Fluent in French & English. Preferably Wolof also
- Experience of providing Veterinary Services to farmers in Senegal Animal Nutrition industry.
- Track record experience working in the animal feed milling industry (feed formulations and quality control) ;
- Knowledgeable about the quality specifications of different raw materials, feed additives and premixes used in poultry and animal feeds ;
- Knowledgeable about the quality control system used in the animal feed industry (NIR calibration, wet chemistry proximate analysis, mineral analysis, process control, and in-market quality)
- Experienced in least cost feed formulations particularly poultry and cattle.
- Ability to conduct research and R&D trials in a safe, ethical and reliable manner.
