Job Description
The Sales Head role is responsible for managing sales operations of the Feed verticals of the Senegal Integrated Feeds & Proteins Business.
Key Deliverables
Business development: Maintain & enhance our market share in the Poultry feeds sector in Senegal. Build on our existing strong dealer & farmer network. Lead our foray in adjacent feed segments (cattle & ruminants) by developing the right channels to service those farmer segments.
Business management: The candidate will have to closely manage budgets / costs, define growth targets and manage all aspects of operations. The candidate will be responsible for aggressively driving growth and while focusing on delivering optimal service levels to our dealer/distributors and finally the end farmers.
Team management: As the National Sales Head of the business, the incumbent will lead & manage the entire sales team. He will also provide dotted leadership to the Veterinarian team who are responsible for farmer engagement, training & consulting support.
Cross functional collaboration: As part of Senegal IFP Leadership, work collaboratively with other department heads, especially Supply Chain, Production, Veterinary Services, Quality, & Finance to ensure proper servicing of market demand. Work closely with HR for recruitment & development of the Sales team for present and future portfolio of products.
Strategic Effectiveness
- Build the regions sales strategies, define detailed sales plans and profit targets for the business. Build daily beat plans and market coverage strategies.
- Build review systems to ensure the defined targets are achieved, motivate and guide the sales team.
- Drive acquisition of new business from the front, lead sales meetings with potential customers in the region.
- Prepare action plans and schedules to identify specific targets and to project the number of contacts to be made & present sales achievement - Target vs Actual in revenue generation.
Operational Effectiveness
- Have the ability to plan, implement & review sales operations independently. Should have exposure in managing large teams and have prior experience in growing the scale of operations and a knack of commercial orientation to drive sustainable & profitable growth.
- Have an ownership mindset! And desire to run the Show Independently.
- Have very good people management, communication and interpersonal skills with an ability to collaborate with and influence a matrix of internal and external customers at varied levels.
Organizational Effectiveness
- Establishing a comprehensive and system driven process for sales reports. Build the right communication plans with regards to sales reports.
- Be involved in both farming and hunting of accounts. Drive independent targets for acquiring new customers and sustaining the engagement with the existing customers.
- Managing and overseeing sales managers demonstrate an ability to meet specified targets within a given time frame. Expand distribution reach.
Requirements
- Bac + 5 from a business school
- Be a senior executive with at least ten (10) years of sales experience, preferably in the Animal Nutrition or FMCG industries.
- French and English is a must. Wolof preferable
