Job Description

The Engineering Excellence Manager will be responsible for developing and implementing engineering standards, strategy and strategic operational goals to meet and exceed business expectations for product development, quality, cost and delivery, maximising efficiency, optimising and driving engineering excellence. S/he will work closely with internal and external key stakeholders and leaders from manufacturing and engineering streams. The incumbent will be responsible for all areas of the Engineering function and quality of service delivery, striving for best in class products and business practices to deliver basis expectations, managing projects across different businesses and geographies.

Job Description

  • Develop best-in-class engineering standards and guidelines to aid different business process of Olam
  • Support in creating an engineering vision and implementing best practices, strategies, policies, processes, and procedures to aid and improve business performance
  • Ensure that engineering strategies and processes are in place to meet business objectives and operational needs
  • Drive implementation of capital management planning and budgeting guidelines across Bus
  • Drive robust project review process, by ensuring information furnished is in line with guidelines
  • Drive initiatives and implementation of various systems, technology interventions, IT tools for project portfolio management
  • Provide guidance to users for all project data reporting platforms
  • Provide insights to the leadership teams and stakeholders on critical/important projects; report and analyze all project management metrics
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure optimal performance
  • Work collaboratively, negotiate and engage with key stakeholders to facilitate delivery and compliance with the engineering strategy

Requirements

  • Engineering graduate with at least 10 years of experience in building engineering standards (electrical, mechanical, civil), preferably from large manufacturing, FMCG, consulting or engineering organisations
  • Experience in preparing/drafting Capex management framework, coordinate with various stakeholders and help preparing guidelines
  • Demonstrable experience of leading an engineering function with a proven track record in strategic engineering leadership delivering effective engineering strategies, policies, processes and systems
  • Experience in project planning and management, driving technology/digital interventions preferred
  • PMI certification is preferable but not mandatory
  • Willing to travel regularly internationally basis business requirements
  • Excellent communication skills, stakeholder management skills, leadership skills and interpersonal skills; ability to organize workload and prioritize tasks based on the criticality of the requirements
