Job Summary

Finance Transformation Office (TO), a young homegrown team, plays a critical role at Olam in defining and driving strategic, operational and organizational initiatives across the company. 

 

The office is based on and strives to abide by the following principles:

An idea incubator, the office spearheads conceptualising, socialising and launching time-sensitive projects of key strategic importance. Transformation Office is currently leading Finance Transformation – which comprises program managing 100+ workstreams within 15+ initiatives in 45+ countries for 15+ product platforms powered by 14+ senior Finance leadership and in collaboration with 11+ functional/ specialist stakeholders impacting 180+ finance team members.

Job Description

Olam’s projects span the globe and require managers to keep the big picture in focus. As a Program Manager at Olam, you lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects. You plan requirements with internal customers and usher projects through the entire project lifecycle. This includes managing project schedules, identifying risks and clearly communicating goals to project stakeholders. Your projects often span offices, time zones and hemispheres, and it's your job to keep all the players coordinated on the project's progress and deadline.

 

  • Develop the strategy and design of Olam transformation initiatives and ensure that they meet overall corporate and strategic objectives
  • Enable implementation of cost and capital transformation initiatives and be responsible for delivering P&L impact through extensive project management, rigorously maintaining and communicating single source of truth and facilitating problem solving at the right forums.
  • Work directly with Country CFOs, Country Heads, Finance Managers, Finance Controllers, members of the Finance Executive Committee, cross-functional teams (e.g., Operational Excellence, Procurement) and Business/ Commercial teams to drive monthly tracking and monitoring of cost transformation initiatives.
  • Leverage analytics and design smart dashboards for smart tracking and reporting of multiple transformation initiatives
  • Develop and facilitate key meetings and presentations to the Olam Board, Olam shareholders, project sponsors and other senior leaders on the progress of the Transformation projects
  • Manage conflicts and inter-dependencies of the transformation initiatives with other organizational priorities and advise on appropriate course of action
  • Support setting up of centres of excellence in Olam through identification, codification and implementation of best practices across business units and geographies.
     

Profile Description

  • Excellent Academic Pedigree - MBA (from Tier-1 Premier Institutions) with a strong record of achievement in academics
  • At least 2 years of experience driving large scale finance transformation projects, preferably from any Big-4 or large IT/Startup
  • Superior analytical aptitude, proactive problem-solving abilities and excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work in teams, deliver high quality and accurate output in high stress environment and meet tight deadlines
  • Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Office, excellent communication and comprehension skills, stakeholder management skills, analytical and logical
  • Willing to relocate to Chennai; willing to travel (to Singapore and to other countries) basis the job requirements.
