Job Description

Sustainability Finance Team: This young, homegrown team’s vision is to deliver long-term value preservation (and support value creation) by embedding sustainability into business strategy and key decision-making. The team strives to achieve this through translating impacts (both, impacts of sustainability risks on Olam’s businesses and impacts of Olam’s businesses on environment/ communities) into financial i.e., dollar values so that these impacts can be incorporated into financials that drive business decision making. 


The team is responsible for assessing and measuring impacts of climate risks on Olam’s assets and operations, ensuring management of these risks is institutionalized through Enterprise Risk Management. The team also assesses and measures impacts of Olam’s operations on environment, communities through its natural/ social/ human capital accounting and valuation work. Thirdly, the team is responsible for carbon accounting (in line with GHG Protocol, VCS), incl. for corporate GHG inventorizing purposes and measuring impacts from decarbonization initiatives. Lastly, the team assesses and measures financial impacts from ESG risks for new investments so that these impacts can be incorporated into the investment’s financial modelling. The team works with various subject matter experts with deep understanding of Olam’s businesses, community matters, nature-based solutions etc., to drive overall sustainability strategy making and implementation process.  

Key Deliverables

  • Support in the sustainability reporting development process, including Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD), Sustainability Accounting Standards Board (SASB) and Global Reporting Initiative (GRI)
  • Support greenhouse gas emissions accounting and management in accordance with the GHG Protocol and Verified Carbon Standard.
  • Support implementation of ESG initiatives through extensive project management; track and monitor initiatives through the development of performance indicators, target-setting, tracking of progress against targets, etc.
  • Work closely with various teams, including Corporate Responsibility and Sustainability (CRS), Manufacturing and Technical Services (MATS), Finance, Risk Management, Human Resource, Business Units (BUs) to drive, track and monitor performance of ESG initiatives
  • Support various technological efforts such as, automation of gathering sustainability related data, carbon accounting and management platform, sustainability performance management platform and sustainability reporting platform.
  • Support in the development of presentation decks for key meetings and presentations to the Olam Board, Olam shareholders, project sponsors and other senior leaders on the progress of sustainability projects
  • Support in the collection and analysis of data from relevant internal stakeholders


  • Strong passion for sustainability and keen to make an impact on ground in the agriculture sector
  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in business administration, finance, accountancy, economics, engineering or environmental sciences
  • Well versed in relevant sustainability guidelines and frameworks, e.g. SASB, GRI, TCFD, CDP etc.
  • Superior analytical aptitude and proactive problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to manage projects end-to-end in collaboration with multiple teams
  • Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Office
